*The Subsite Electronics EML accessory virtually eliminates the search for buried facilities when properly marked with 3M ScotchMark Electronic Markers. The markers, when buried with the facility, serve as a signaling device. Each marker is color-coded to APWA standards and produces an industry-specific frequency. This helps to correctly identify and locate the marker when using the Subsite 75R locator and EML accessory. The system provides a near-positive identification and location of the facility without costly guesswork.
-3M ScotchMark Electronic Markers:
*3M ScotchMark Electronic Markers can be buried over key facilities such as valve boxes, splices, service stubs and cable paths during construction or at the time of maintenance. Each marker contains a passive antenna that requires no internal power source. Their water-resistant polyethylene shells are impervious to minerals, chemicals, and underground temperature extremes.
*The 3M ScotchMark Electronic Markers simply wait to receive a signal from the Subsite EML. The locator transmits a signal to the buried marker, and the marker returns a signal to the EML. The location of the marker is indicated by an audible tome from the locator. The presence of metallic conductors, fences, AC power lines or other utility electronic markers will not affect the locating process.
